People who know about things like art and architecture know that Buffalo is famous for both. People who know nothing about Buffalo — (my hometown) — except that it snows there a lot and is cold as balls are often surprised to learn that Buffalo has either. The list is long of Buffalo's rich architectural attractions including the 32-story Art Deco City Hall, the gothic Richardson Olmsted Campus and the many buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Connecticut Street Armory is one of my favorites. Built in 1899, the historic National Guard armory looks like a castle. It is a mammoth sandstone structure that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It's a site to behold, and if you are ever in Buffalo, take a look for yourself.
